Software Development Manager/Lead

AudienceScience, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Manager/Lead within the Engineering team.

The Software Development Manager is responsible for designing and implementing the infrastructure behind a massively scalable system that provides targeted advertising for some of the biggest names on the web. Your team comes from the world's top computer science departments, like Stanford, UW, and Harvard, and leading technology companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Expedia. They thrive on being challenged with ever greater goals-when others say "It can’t be done", they say, "Dude... Hand me my keyboard!"

Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of industry experience
• 3+ years as manager/director leading teams of 5-10 developers & QA
• 8+ years of Java experience
• BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related experience
• Recent hands on Java development skills in a Linux environment
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns 
• Strong understanding and practical experience in multithreaded codebases
• Experience building high volume, multi-terrabyte scalable systems
• Experience working with geographically diverse teams

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of developers, testers in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Responsible for development and maintenance of Ad Serving, Targeting and Data Processing platforms
• Active involvement in design and development of the codebase (at least 50% hands on development)
• Lead and mentor team members

The ideal candidate has experience with several of the following:

• Experience building online Advertising platforms and services
• Building systems to aggregate and process many-terabyte data sets. Experience with Hadoop/HDFS or similar
• Background in Data Mining, Data warehousing and/or Natural Language/Predictive algorithms
